Brilliantly creative speculative fiction

I have read a -lot- of science fiction, and my favorites are the ones with scientifically-minded creativity and imagnation. Roger Williams is a master of this. His most well-known book is Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect, which is excellent, but the Passage Home series is even farther-flung, yet still entirely plausible. Typically, a story won't begin with a sentiment like this:
And then the last humans on Earth stood their ground and faced their fate as the sea rose up like a wall of damnation and obliterated them.
But somehow, Roger Williams can, and then proceed to tell a gripping story of the -next- 30,000 years, and do it all in a short story.

Humans. A frail and fleeting thing in the eye of an ageless machine. And yet, an intense and unique experience with every single one of them going by. You will read the thoughts of Bringer as he witnesses the passing of eras and, one after the other, generations of humans. Populations come and go, like waves on the seashore, with every human being living the time of their life.
Listen to Bringer telling his story, as he narrates what it was like to be living through the time of everyone's life.

This is the second episode in the Mortal Passage series by Roger Williams (with thanks to Elaine Radford for editing, support and photography). The first episode is available on amazon aswell (and you should read that first!). Also, if you like big picture sci-fi. i strongly suggest you read his short novel the "Metamorphosis Of Prime Intellect".
